  1. More people now get their news online

    It's official. For the first time ever, more people are now getting their news online rather than from newspapers. That's according to landmark research by the Poynter Institute in America, which has found that as of the end of 2010, more people in the US were accessing news via the Internet than from the printed broadsheets or tabloids. What's even more interesting is that more ad dollars went to online outlets than to newspapers too...

  3. Why people use the Internet

    The Internet. We just can't live without it can we! And to think just 14 years ago, I was one of the first students to have Internet access in my bedroom at university. Those were the days when you had to make three trips back and forth from the car to unload your personal computer; Excite was my search engine of choice and message boards were the only social media we had to network and communicate online...

  4. Google Launches Instant Results

    It's already old news if you're a complete and utter web geek, but Google has launched 'instant search', saving us two to five seconds per search. Yes that's right! A whole five seconds saved. The new feature, created in its Google Labs and called Google Instant, is the latest big reveal from the globe's leading search engine. The idea is that our searching experience will be greatly enhanced, giving us faster results without having to wait until we hit 'enter'.
