  1. The film industry and missing the point

I'm a little annoyed at tonight's news that British man Richard O'Dwyer is to be extradited to the US, accuesed of copyright infringement. He apparently hosted links to pirated films and TV programmes on his own website and he could now face a maximum sentence of five years in prison...

  2. The new media landscape continues to take hold

Interesting to read the latest research into media consumption trends and how technology is changing everything we watch, read and buy forever. Looking at the findings by KPMG - which surveys UK consumers every six months - a key highlight reveals that 'streamed TV' is becoming more mainstream here in the UK with more and more people taking advantage of services like BBC iPlayer and 4oD...

It amazes me that so many people still talk negatively about e-readers and digital reading devices, claiming that it's a bad thing and the 'end of books as we know it'. It's pretty ridiculous really. Especially when you put it into context and look back on the history of books and how they've evolved over the ages...

  6. After nine months of Kindle, ebooks outsell hardbacks at Amazon

It happened in the US first, now it's happened here in the UK - Amazon is now selling more ebooks than hardbacks after only nine months of Kindle. Amazing when you consider that Amazon has been selling hardbacks for 13 years and Kindle books for just under a year. The firm has revealed that in the US ebooks have now outstripped all printed books while in the UK Amazon now sells 242 ebooks for every 100 hardbacks. Wow...
